Eligibility – The Toronto Star Women's Amateur is open to female amateurs, (no age restrictions) who are members of a Greater Toronto Area Golf Association member club and with an official/authorized handicap factor of 18.0 or less. The final field will be comprised of the first 100 entries received. A complete list of GTAGA member clubs can be found at www.gtaga.com.
Entry Closing Date – 5:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2011. For online entries, the fee of $164.98 (includes all taxes), is payable by Visa or Mastercard. If you prefer to pay by cheque or money order, you must download and complete the entry form, and mail or courier it to be received at the GTAGA tournament office by 5:00p.m. Friday, June 10, 2011. Please note that your entry will not be confirmed until received by the Tournament office. In the event the field is oversubsribed your cheque/ money order will be destroyed.
Exemptions into the Field –The following exempt players must be a member of a club belonging to the Greater Toronto Area Golf Association: 1.Past Toronto Star Women’s Amateur champions. 2.The 2010 Canadian Ladies Amateur champion. 3.The 2010 Ontario Ladies Amateur champion.

Withdrawal – Withdrawals prior to the entry closing date of Friday, June 10 will receive a refund, (minus $50.00 administration fee). No refunds will be given after the entry closing date. To contact the GTAGA, e-mail gvandervalk@gtaga.com
No Shows – Competitors who fail to appear for their assigned starting times without notifying the GTAGA may be ineligible to participate in the championship the following year. No shows include any player who fails to turn in a scorecard or who withdraws during play without notifying a tournament official.
One Ball Rule – The tournament will be conducted under the one ball condition, i.e. changing brands and types of balls during a stipulated round is prohibited. See page 132 of the RCGA Rules of Golf.
Dress Code – All players and caddies must be properly attired both on and off the golf course. Golf shorts of a conservative style are permitted. Rugger pants, jeans, short shorts, cut-offs, T-shirts and tank tops are prohibited. It is the players’ responsibility to be aware of and conform to any additional dress code requirements of the host club.
Code of Conduct – Conduct considered detrimental to the best interests of the game, or unbecoming of a competitor, either on or off the course, and coming to the attention of the Committee, will be strictly dealt with and may result in disqualification of the offending person(s).
Caddies – Caddies are encouraged for all GTAGA championships and must wear soft-soled shoes.
Transportation – The Rules Committee authorizes the use of motorized carts, at their own expense payable to the host clubs at their current cart fee rates.

Championship Format – The Complete field will play 36 holes stroke play ,after which the low 32 qualify for match play on day 3. The low 16 will compete in the Championship Flight and the remaining 16 will compete in the First Flight.
Practice Rounds – Practice rounds are not available. Confirmed competitors may be permitted to make a familiarization tour of the golf course during certain hours. In all instances the Golf Professional at the course must first be contacted in advance.
Rules of Golf – Play will be governed by the RCGA Rules of Golf as supplemented by the GTAGA Rules Committee. Conditions of the Competition and Local Rules are on the GTAGA website and it is strongly recommended that they be reviewed. Conditions of Competition and Local Rules will also be available in the starting tent.
Distance Measuring Devices: Distance Measuring Devices are prohibited. Penalty for use is disqualification.
Liability – The applicant is aware of and assumes all risks of bodily injury or property damage, including specifically (but not exclusively) the risk of injury by thrown or struck golf clubs or golf balls, actions by spectators, competitors, caddies or others in attendance or weather related incidents. The competitor agrees that the Greater Toronto Area Golf Association including its directors, officers and employees as well as the competitors in the championship, are not liable for any injuries or property damage resulting from such cause or any other negligence.
I have read the 2011 GTAGA women's tournament regulations, including the liability waiver and the Conditions of Competition and Local Rules as detailed on the website and will abide by them. I understand the eligibility requirements listed in this notice. I certify that I qualify as an amateur according to the Rules of Amateur Status of the RCGA , and I agree that this entry is subject to the approval of the GTAGA championship committee. In consideration for GTAGA services in conducting the regional qualifier/championship, I hereby grant and assign to the GTAGA without limitation, my individual television, radio, print advertising and all other related media rights with respect to my participation in the tournament.
